anyways, the drawing of the girl just started as a sorta random sketch I drew really late one night (a few weeks ago I believe). And I actually liked how it came out...and there wasn' even multiple sketches or plans involved (usually I have to do like a million sketches to finally get one to look good xP). Then I kinda forgot about the sketch....and found it again some time later and decided I'd turn it into a finished piece, but I didn't wanna color it so I decided to just do it entirely in ink (my .2mm Sakura micron was used for all the inking). When I first drew the sketch I had thought a little about the background...pretty much just the door part. So after I traced the sketch and inked the tracing, I had to come up with the background...I had no clue what I was doing but eventually it turned into a cavern.
Yay for cave formations. Oh yeah, and the things that look kinda like drappery aren't drappery...they're cave formations that are commonly refered to as "cave bacon", and I swear, the real thing really does look like bacon. And the wolf isn't a live wolf (just in case you can't tell), it's a statue. I think this may be the most insane/detailed background I've ever done in an anime pic...and it's been quite some time since I've done an ink-only anime piece.
anyways, please no crits on this...I actually like this (which is a rare occurance) and put a lot of time and effort into it. And the not shading the girl was an artistic choice I made...so don't going saying she doesn't match the BG...she would get lost in it if I had shadef her in the same manner...
anyways, as I said...I didn't want to color this, but I did scan it throughout the process and have the lineart with shading saved to my computer. I'm thinking have maybe having a coloring contest with this (if enough people are interested). If I do hold the contest, there'll be prizes (probably jewerly and/or con leftovers) feel free to say you uploaded it for me...and whatever else you feel like saying.
